Chapter 3
When the nurse came in and asked, “Bad breakfast,” She made it sound more like a statement than a question. As if it happened every day, which I'm sure it did. When I stopped puking up everything I had in my stomach, the nurse came over and told me to sit on a cot and to just relax. She came over checked my temperature and asked me if I had felt bad at all during the day.
So when I said, “No, Ma'm." She looked like she didn't believe me, but how could she tell on me if I give her nothing to tell on?
"Okay. I think you're fine, you can stay at school, but take it easy."
"I promise, I won't be taking it hard," I said scoffing.
"Tell Mrs. Lane that you have to take it easy in gym today, special orders from the nurse. Oh! And no sports!"
"Thank you, Miss Copper."
"You're welcome, dear. Take it slow!"
Then I walk out the door greeted by both Asher and Griffin both asking the same question, "Are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm fine let's go to gym shall we?"
"Okay, let's go, but if you-,"Asher didn't even get to finish his sentence before I cut in.
"I'm fine. Let's just move on, okay? Please?," When I only got unsure glances I say, "If you guys don't agree with me, Asher, I will make you both watch Degrassi with me for the rest of the year."
When I said that, I heard a lot of, "What ever you want, Cam!" and "You do look a lot better."
"That's what I thought."
